Press Release Writing
Flat fee. 3-business-day turnaround. You get a release that's formatted, sourced, and ready to send or distribute.
What you get
A lot of press releases get written. Very few get read. The difference is almost always the angle, the first two sentences, and whether the journalist can use it without rewriting it. That's what I spend the most time on.
AP style, formatted for wire or direct pitch, with a headline, dateline, boilerplate, and contact block ready to go.
I'll ask the questions to find the real story, not just the announcement. That's the part that makes it land.
If the first draft isn't right, we fix it. You get one full revision pass included.
From intake to delivery. Tight deadlines handled case by case, ask before you book.
Track record
I've been writing and pitching media for over a decade, from a police agency spokesperson seat to a Fortune 60 corporate PR role. These are real campaigns I ran, without an agency.
DeLorean / Back to the Future anniversary: $617K earned media value
Built the strategy, wrote the release, pitched directly, and landed NBC Chicago and the Chicago Tribune. The story syndicated nationwide. Solo execution, no agency involved.
Bloomberg Flex Pods, a Fortune 60 insurer's employer brand: national placement
Owned the workstream with only my manager. Pitched Bloomberg's Matthew Boyle, built the partner angle with LiquidSpace, and ran all logistics. Planted the company's flag on flexible work while the industry was still debating return-to-office.
Today Show and Good Morning America segments
National morning segments for a Fortune 60 insurer's identity-protection brand, written and pitched from inside a Fortune 60 PR team without outside agency support on the release side.

How it works
Who I work with
You're a startup founder who needs a real release, not a template. A small-business owner with an announcement that deserves actual media coverage. Or a boutique PR agency that's short on writing capacity and needs overflow you can trust.
Not a good fit: wire-only distribution with no editorial angle, or a release needed in under 24 hours without a prior conversation.
About
I spent seven years as the sole spokesperson for a police agency and another eight in corporate PR at a Fortune 60 insurer, writing and pitching everything from crisis statements to national morning TV segments. I run Catalyst19 out of Jacksonville, FL, focused on PR, communications strategy, and AI comms consulting.
I'm not an agency. There's no account team, no junior writer doing the first draft. I write every release myself.

Common questions
Writing only, for this service. I can make recommendations on wire services or direct pitch strategy, but distribution isn't included in the flat fee. If you want a bundled write-plus-pitch service, reach out and we can talk about scope.
Rush delivery is available depending on my current workload. Mention your deadline in your email and I'll tell you if I can make it work, and at what rate.
Yes. The research and angle-finding work the same way regardless of sector. If a project requires deep technical expertise I can't reasonably brief myself on, I'll say so before you pay.
Stripe invoice, sent after we agree on scope. Full payment due before I start writing. I accept all major cards.
Yes. If you have regular release volume, reach out and we can discuss a retainer or package arrangement. Note that and we can talk through it on the intake call.
